Battle of Gela and H.Goering Division

On the official report of the General Guzzoni chief of the italian 6th Army, the italian general wrote:"The german division H.Goering had a bad impact on the offensive on Gela, they didn't had a real contact with the enemy for all day long and that cause the failure of the offensive on Gela".

Anyone have information about that? Why the report of Guzzoni is so different between the many books about sicily?

(The report of Guzzoni is from the italian army archives in Rome)

Guzzoni's report is not the only document in which we find the difficult reaction of Goering to Gela. In at least three other documents of the time including the same report of the division occurred a few days after the fight admit the low divisional "performance". To corroborate this fact are also at least three orders of the divisional commander to replace as many non-commissioned officers for poor performance in combat. These measures are taken from the reports found at NARA. However, it must be said that the "fault" of Gela's failure to counterattack is not only due to the lack of proof of Goering but also to collateral events that even the Italians were not free from.

The problem is about many books who talk about the battle of Gela. Most of all, didnt talk about the bad reaction of the Goering.
