AS TO&E

Thanks. I believe the report shows those units that were missing at the time of the report... they have a dotted line around them

Yes, the line should mark the units currently not available but in the case of the 20mm company in the divisional accompanying weapons battalion it would have been superfluous because in reality the company had to be of machine gunners and not 20mm and in the case of the artillery regiment in the scheme it is not shown the fact that the two "top" divisions, that is Bologna and Pavia, maintained the articelere regiment as well as their own incomplete.

Did the Bersaglieri infantry battalions in AS have their a different TO&E from other AS infantry battalions and if they did have their own TO&E did it evolve as much as that for other AS infantry battalions did?

Cheers,
Neil

Sorry about the formatting, it looked OK until I pressed "post reply".

Just move the top line headings to match the lower lines and it should make sense.

David, I don't know where the TOEs of the Bersaglieri battalions got but unfortunately in AS they were not so schematic and moreover they also varied a lot of those you reported that instead are the original ones from the beginning of the war. Moreover, especially the 8th regiment (that is, that of Aries changed its staff on the field several times on the basis of what was currently available on the field) .... however, to say that the battalion did not have pieces from its TOE 20mm anti-aircraft seems a bit risky .....

No in As there was not only the difference between real and theoretical but also between the TOE to be applied even if in fact they were almost never respected. In AS the target battalions were also different as TOE. At home and in other chessboards they were mostly cyclist battalions and battalions self-ported with anti-tank companies and motorcycle companies while in AS (with TOE different from the metropolitan ones) they were motorcycling battalions, self-ported battalions, battalions for accompanying weapons and armored battalions.
