Italian Naval Doctrine

A useful but very brief account, sometimes a bit superficial or repeating clichées. For example, the Otranto strait barrier in WW1 was a waste of resources, as German submarines passed without problems, and the old story that Supermarina did not leave enough freedom of action to naval commanders at sea rose from Iachino's post-war writings but frankly has little or no foundation.
