Seems this machine gun was employed by them, any idea of structure?

I have this: Comando+4 Plt =8 Officers+5 NCO +4 Italians+301 Lybians+389camels+26 pistols+306 rifles and 13LMG i suppose the Breda 5Ccould be this LMG

In December 40 seems it changed for Comando+ 3 Plt(12 LMG)+ Hvy Wps Plt with 6 Machine guns- i suppose this would be proper HMG heavier than the Breda 5C

I have compared the information in your post above to the structures provided in Struttura, uniformi, distinctive ed insigne delle truppe libicihe 1913-1943 published by the USSME in 2012. I can't find a match. What is the source of your information?

None of my books state whether the Breda 5C was used. I have have references that the heavy machine gun was normally the Scharwlose, sometimes the Breda 37.

Yes, in December 40, the compagnia meharisti converted their 4th platoon into a plotone mitraglieri equipped with the Schwarlose. This appears to be a four-gun platoon, with two buluc mitraglieri (10 men and two MGs each). The remaining three compagnia meharisti had three squadra fucilieri with one fucile mitragliatore in each squadra. (pp.77-80). Total of 4 mtr. and 12 f.m.

The increase to a total of 12 f.m. and 6 mtr. is in June 1941 (p. 81).

It is quite possible the Breda 5C was used during the war by the meharisti. I don't have any information that can confirm or deny.
