Dili,
Two photo’s attached although the G55 is a post war one. I will see if I have any others but as the caption for the C202 states they seem rare,

Bob

The Macchi C202 - A technical guide by Maurizio Di Terlizzi. I have several books on Italian fighters but so far this is the only Second World War photo. I have looked at the picture again and yes you are right. The underwing emblem is a post armistice roundall!
If I come across any further pictures I will of course post them.
Regards,
Bob

Well, that's a first, thanks. I know many RA aircraft were supposed to have external f. tank, but this is the first photo i have seen.

Govi reports that also the Reggiane RE 2005 Sagittario was equipped for two 100 l fuel tanks under the outer wings.

Here you can see a Macchi C.205V Veltro Scorta of the so-called Cobelligerent Air Force, with two 100 l fuel tanks. This airplane was a conversion of a C.202 into a C.205.

And this is a Macchi C.202 Folgore, again of the Cobelligerent Air Force, with fuel tanks. These airplanes were used on the Balkans from bases in Puglia.

Not sure if you are still interested, it I came across the below photograph in Nicola Malizia’s excellent book Fiat G50 published by IBN Editore. Unfortunately, there is no further info in the text.

Bob
