SPA TM40 Prime Mover Tractor

Hello,
My first post, and I would like to begin with a thank you for providing this forum.

My questions are about the SPA TM40. My research so far has been limited to the web...I cannot find any manuals (even digitized online) or military publications on this prime mover.
Not being deeply familiar with Italian WW2 vehicles, I am asking for help from forum members.
I have included a pic of a data plate from the vehicle, do the chassis or motor number give indication of when produced? If not, where would I find that plate?
Does anyone have a TM manual, operator manual, or other military publications on this vehicle?
What were the art pieces the TM40 was coupled to?
And any photos?
Thank you in advance for any...and I mean any, help provided as I attempt to learn more details about this vehicle.
Have unlimited access to the vehicle and can provide pics if anyone needs them for their own research.

Good day Whitley and benvenuto nel forum

Hopefully others will offer what they can.

There are two recent books on Italian soft-skin vehicles (two volumes). I haven't read them, so can't provide any opinions/thoughts on what they offer.

You can like find both of the volumes on Amazon. The reviews are good, but I don't know how much in-depth they go into on individual vehicles.

RE: manuali

I have not done business with this company, so I can't comment on their service.

Here is a link were one can purchase a digit copy of the users and maintenance manuale.

This is the repair manuale

I hope this gives you a start.

Pista! Jeff

View attachment 1501 It's fascinating to learn more about the SPA TM40 and its role as a prime mover during WWII. These vehicles were essential for transporting artillery, and understanding their history adds a whole new layer to their importance. When you’re dealing with older military vehicles like this, it’s always good to check the vehicle's history and mileage, especially if you're restoring or purchasing one. A great resource for this is https://www.faxvin.com/vin-check/truck, which allows you to easily look up the VIN and check the vehicle’s mileage and history. This can save you from unexpected surprises, especially if you're using the vehicle for long trips or transportation. It’s definitely worth checking out if you're looking to ensure the reliability of any vintage vehicle, whether it’s for restoration or just a collection.
The chassis and motor numbers are often helpful for identifying the production year or specific model, but they might not directly indicate the exact year. If the SPA TM40 follows the same system as other military vehicles of its time, these numbers could be cross-referenced with production records, but they might require you to dig into specific archives or contact military vehicle preservation societies that specialize in Italian WW2 vehicles.
