Tank crew helmet

Hello guys I found this helmet and guy selling it says he dont know if its post war or ww2 era helmet. Can anybody here help me to know if its post war production or if it was produced before 1945?

You are walking into a minefield. As you seem to be aware of, these helmets were made/used into the 70s. Best is to search the net and look at a lot of pictures and read all the comments. One complication is that many wartime helmets were refurnished and used after the war. Proven/known WW2 tanker helmets are pricey because of this problem. Do a lot of research, but I am willing to bet in the end whether to buy it will be a gut decision.

I have not delved into the wild world of tanker's helmets, so can't offer an informed opinion.

Well I spend like 2h searching and this was my last try. It looks ww2 so I will try to buy it

It's a post war helmet, manufacturer's stamp makes it clear. There should be another stamp with the date of production, but it was cut off. Sadly, it's a common practice among sellers to remove the flap of the liner with this stamp to hide actual date of production and sell it as more expensive WW2 piece. I own two of these, one with date stamp removed and another with manufacturer's stamp missing (probably seller accidentally cut the wrong piece and didn't notice).
