The only thing worst than Santa giving you a lump of coal is having two of your bottles of sparkling wine having bad corks when making mimosas....
I finally had to open a bottle of excellent champagne....
The cork on the left is from the Taittinger, the right from the Freixenet.
Freixenet is not a bad sparkling wine (when used for mimosas), but the corks don't hold up.
