UBoat Net adds Italian submarine section.

Platon Alexiades announced on AHF that uboat.net is adding a section on Italian submarines. Just the shell is currently present, but the announcement indicates material will be rapidly added.

I have had the chance to look at your section which I congratulate you for! You have obviously researched the subject deeply as their is a wealth of information on the site that you would not normally come across in books.

Many thanks for your comments. The research started as I was investigating the targets and victims of British and Allied submarines in the Rome archives. I realized how little was published on Italian submarines outside Italy. There is still quite a bit to be added so keep a good watch!

Platon Alexiades has created a new website on Italian submarines. His Forward states that this new site completes the information already posted on uboat.net. I assume that one must use both sites to gain a complete understand of Italian submarine operations.

Hi Jeff.
Just had a quick look at the new site. It seems incomplete at this time as there is no info under each year heading. It seems a duplication the Uboat net Italian section. I can only assume that Platon wants a stand alone Italian Submarine site. Thanks for the update. Will monitor its development!

It's not a duplicate site. As of my reading, the patrols for each month are added and the last page includes statistics not previously available. My thanks to Jeff for posting the link. I have been using it with good success and have found few errors.
