Additional Notes

Sebastiano Visconti Prasca graduated from the Military School of Infantry and Cavalry of Modena on 5 September 1904. He obtained the title of Conte by Royal Decree on 31 March 1938. After the armistice of 8 September 1943, he joined the Resistance movement against the Germans, but on 24 October he was arrested and subsequently sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted to imprisonment in Germany, where he became interned in the Schokken Offizierslager. In April 1945, he was freed along with many other senior officers from the Red Army. Visconti Prasca returned to Italy in October 1945. He was Grand Master of the Capitolare Militare Order of the Knights of Concord. From 1951 until his death Visconti Prasca was Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of St. George in Carinthia. He married Angelica Zoppi, sister of Generale designato d’armata and Senator Ottavio Zoppi.
