Additional Notes
Vittorio Ambrosio graduated from the Nunziatella Military School in 1893 and from the Military Academy of Modena on 30 September 1896. He served in the cavalry arm. As Chief of the General Staff, Vittorio Ambrosio became active in the movement to dissociate Italy from the alliance with Germany and negotiate a separate peace with the Anglo-Americans on the basis of neutrality. In 1942, he married Ante Nikšić, the daughter of the Minister of the Interior of Croatia.
