In La prima offensiva britannica, p.224 it states that Superasi ordered the 5ª Armata to send the 2º rgt. art. celere to reinforce the 10ª Armata reserve. P.238, states that the 2º rgt. art. celere had arrived from Tripoli with two gruppi da 75/27 at Ghemines and one gruppo da 100/17 at Agedabia on 31 January. On p.239 it states that the rgt. was then ordered back to Sirte.

L'esercito Italiano verso il 2000 vol. 2, book II doesn't show the rgt. arriving in A.S. until March 1941 (p.206). The same page also states that only the II and III gruppi were sent to A.S. La prima controffensiva Italo-tedesca pp.325, 336 lists all three gruppi as being with the «Piava» in April 1941.

Can anyone clarify the story of this artillery regiment?

Pista! Jeff

Here is the "African" story of the 2nd articelere Emanuele Filiberto Testa di Ferro (from History of the regiment of General Giovanni Marciani-Roma Regional Typography 1955)

Excellent information Maurizio. What is the source?

That confirms the account in La prima offensiva britannica.
