Got a surprise when I picked up the mail today: two DVDs of Italian records from the T821 series.
It was a surprise as I had ordered them in May 2020. Shortly after I placed my order, NARA shut down due to COVID. I received an email in early 2021 asking if I still wanted the files. I said yes, and that is all I heard until today.
The rolls are documents relating to the Italian Army in Russia. I was originally planning to write on that campaign, but then learned that several other authors were working on similar books. Thinking that situation through, I pivoted to writing about the paracadutisti.
Over 2K pages of documents, it will take some time to see what is all there. This will need to wait until after the paracadutisti book is finished.
