Naval museum at La Spezia.

Afternoon all.
About a month ago, my wife and I decided to go on a two week Mediterranean cruise. We picked one and you can imagine my concealed joy when I saw that one of the ports of call was La Spezia. At this point, I made a precondition that my wife could visit wherever she wanted to during cruise except for La Spezia. At La Spezia it had to be the naval museum and not Florence, Pisa or Portafino!
I have visited the naval museum at Venice twice but it has been a life long wish to go to La Spezia. I attach just a couple of photos that I took with the recommendation that it is worth a visit. Only downside was that there wasn’t much of a shop!
The main upside, I touched relics from the submarine Scire with my own hand!!! I can’t explain the strange feeling when I done this!
Regards to all,
Bob

Nice pictures. I hope that guy who kept getting into your pictures didn't bother you too much. ;)

I assume the large tube in your second picture carried a pig? if so, did they need to disassemble the saddles to fit the pig in th tube, or is it large enough to fit the entire system?

Pista! Jeff

Jeff,
Re the tube, you are quiete correct. One of three carried on the deck. When see close up the you can appreciate the size. I was also surprised by the size of the ‘Bow cutter.’ I just hoped that all the outside items have been treated and protected against the elements. Can’t help it but here is twomore pictures. Part of the Scire again and a propeller from the Vittorio Veneto!
