Additional Notes

Giuseppe Pafundi graduated from the Military Academy of Modena on 5 September 1904. Pafundi was relieved of his command of the VIII Army Corps on 24 October 1942 after a heated conversation with the Chief of the General Staff, Marshal Ugo Cavallero, in which he refused to go to Egypt to take command of the X Army Corps after the death of General Ferrari Orsi.
