Graduated from the Royal Military Academy of Infantry and Cavalry in Modena. German prisoner of war from 9 September 1943. Interned in Poland in the 64/Z concentration camp of Schokken, he was liberated by the Red Army on 30 January, 1945 and transferred to Lublin. He returned to Italy on 6 October 1945.
