Additional Notes

Pietro Pintor was considered as a possible replacement for Pietro Badoglio as Chief of the General Staff, before the appointment of Ugo Cavallero. Pintor was killed together with Generale di Squadra aerea Aldo Pellegrini in a plane crash on 7 December 1940 on his way from Rome to Turin.
